HG-2/HG-3 Turbo Air-Knife Bottle Dryer

Turbo air knife blow dryer

The HG-2/HG-3 turbo air-knife dryer combines a high-speed blower with fixed air knives for a stable, straight-through bottle flow. Drying performance depends on blower airflow and pressure, air-knife angle and distance, bottle spacing and conveyor stability, especially before high-speed labeling.

Model positioning

Blower and air-knife arrangement

A high-speed blower supplies concentrated air to fixed knives that shear water from the bottle surface as containers pass in a straight line. Knife angle, stand-off distance and overlap determine where the airflow strikes; poor alignment can move water to another zone instead of clearing it. Curved shoulders, bottle bases and label panels should therefore be checked with actual bottles and marked residual-water locations.

The purchasing review should compare usable airflow and pressure at the proposed operating point, blower control, duct losses, air-knife adjustment and any acoustic enclosure. Noise conditions and electrical consumption should be verified together with airflow at the stated line speed; the published model capacity alone does not demonstrate the required residual-water result.

Airflow, quotation and acceptance

  • For the turbo dryer quotation, provide bottle samples that represent normal running and any format prone to rotation or wobble, or dimensioned drawings. State bottle material, filled or empty condition, required line speed and spacing, and mark the residual-water locations that matter before labeling, coding or packing.
  • Confirm the straight conveyor path, height, width and direction, upstream and downstream interfaces, power supply and installation space. Ask the quotation to state the blower and control method, airflow and pressure basis, number and layout of air knives, angle adjustment, noise-control scope, connected load, spare parts and commissioning boundaries.
  • Define FAT/SAT in writing: run every nominated bottle at the agreed speed and spacing, inspect the marked residual-water zones after a defined run, record airflow and control settings, verify noise and power under agreed measurement conditions, and test line interfaces and safety functions. Acceptance should use the agreed observable criterion rather than a promise of complete drying.
