Bottle rinsing machines for filling lines

Rotary bottle rinsing machine

Bottle rinsing is the first container-contact step in many liquid packaging lines. The correct machine depends on the actual bottle, the contamination to be removed, the rinse medium and the way the container must reach the filler. A purchase quote should therefore be based on bottle samples and line interfaces, not only on a target speed.

Position in the production line

A typical sequence is:

Bottle supply -> rinsing -> draining or bottle drying -> filling -> capping or sealing

For new glass or PET bottles, the requirement may be limited to dust removal and internal rinsing. Returnable or heavily contaminated bottles can require a separate validated washing process. A standard rinser should not be treated as a sterilizer or returnable-bottle washer unless that duty is specifically designed and included in the quotation.

Containers and process conditions

Confirm these points before selecting a model:

  • Glass or PET, bottle shape, neck finish, base stability and allowable handling marks
  • New bottles, recycled bottles or bottles arriving with known dust and debris
  • Water, treated water, air or another approved rinse medium
  • Required inversion, contact time, drainage and residual-water condition
  • Bottle changeover frequency and the available space for conveyors and access
  • Wastewater collection, filtration or discharge responsibility

Use the parameter table on each product page as the model reference. Final selection remains subject to the approved bottle and the complete line speed basis.

Procurement decisions that affect price

  • Stand-alone rinser or mechanically linked rinsing and filling section
  • Manual bottle loading, conveyor feed or connection to an existing unscrambler
  • Number of bottle formats and the change parts included in supply
  • Rinse circuit, pump, tank, filtration, drainage and guarding scope
  • Required conveyor length, buffer section and controls interface
  • Destination voltage, plant layout, packing method and delivery terms

Information needed for a factory quote

Send representative bottle drawings or samples, closure details, target line output, rinse medium, contamination description, upstream bottle supply, downstream filler, available utilities, layout and destination. State whether water treatment, bottle drying and wastewater handling are inside or outside the requested supply.

FAT, installation and after-sales boundary

Factory acceptance should use the agreed bottle range and written test method. Check bottle transfer, rinse coverage, drainage, breakage or jamming, changeover and the signal interface with adjacent equipment. Site acceptance conditions, installation labor, travel, commissioning, operator training, recommended spare parts and response method must be listed in the commercial offer or contract. Items not listed should not be assumed to be included.
