Watermelon Seed Oil Pressing Line

Watermelon seed line sizing must distinguish wet seed from fruit processing, dry whole seed, and dehulled kernel. These feed states have different washing, drying, hull separation, press charge, and oil-quality requirements.

Raw Material Boundary

Declare seed type, whole-seed or kernel basis, hull ratio, moisture, impurities, storage history, and intended use. Remove empty, moldy, insect-damaged, scorched, or rancid seed. Wet seed must be cleaned and dried promptly rather than stored as a high-moisture press feed.

Recommended Pretreatment

1. Separate pulp and foreign material from wet seed.
2. Wash when required, then dry evenly and cool.
3. Dehull if the selected product uses kernels.
4. Sort and remove stones, metal, and defective seed.
5. Crush or lightly condition the dry feed for a controlled trial.

Pressing Route and Equipment

Begin with a low-temperature hydraulic batch trial for a light-flavor oil. A lightly roasted or conditioned route may be tested separately when a stronger aroma is required. Whole seed and kernel must be run as different trial specifications, and press selection must use measured charge density and cycle data.

Record the stated input basis, pulp and impurity removal, moisture after drying, hull separation and kernel loss, crush or conditioning settings, charge weight, cycle time, oil temperature, crude and filtered oil, and cake. Check color, aroma, clarity, cake discharge, retained product, and cleaning under the agreed sample conditions.
