Fruit and vegetable pre-processing equipment

Fruit and vegetable pre-processing line

Pre-processing converts incoming fruit or vegetables into a controlled feed for extraction, pulping, fermentation, heat treatment or another downstream process. The correct equipment list depends on the raw material arriving at the factory, not only on the finished drink or food product.

Position in the production line

A project-specific route may include:

Receiving -> inspection and sorting -> washing -> trimming or size reduction -> conveying -> extraction or pulping -> product treatment -> filling

Only the stages required by the approved process should be quoted. Wastewater, rejected material, peel, stones, pomace and other by-products also need defined handling boundaries.

Raw-material conditions to document

  • Fruit or vegetable type, variety, maturity and seasonal window
  • Delivery form, field contamination and foreign-material load
  • Whole-product dimensions, fragility and acceptable handling damage
  • Required sorting, washing, trimming, crushing or conveying stages
  • Water quality, recirculation and wastewater constraints
  • Downstream feed size, temperature and continuity requirement
  • Cleaning, food-contact and local hygiene requirements

The linked pages provide model-level reference information. A complete fruit or vegetable line requires a process list and raw-material review before the manufacturer can confirm the configuration.

Purchase decisions that affect the quote

  • Seasonal peak input and the basis used to describe throughput
  • Manual inspection versus mechanized sorting and transfer
  • Number of wash or preparation stages
  • Product-contact materials and cleaning access
  • Water circuit, pumps, tanks, conveyors and controls
  • Waste and wastewater collection included in supply
  • Connection to extraction, fermentation, pasteurization or filling

Quote request data

Send raw-material photos and representative samples where practical, incoming condition, required finished feed, target processing basis, operating season and shifts, process flow, utilities, layout, waste plan and destination. Identify existing equipment and the required inlet/outlet elevations.

Acceptance, delivery and after-sales boundary

FAT should use the agreed raw material or a documented substitute and define handling damage, transfer stability, cleaning access and interface checks. Seasonal product performance, final product quality and waste yield are not implied unless a specific test method is contracted. Delivery, installation, local water and drainage work, commissioning, training, spare parts and service terms must be itemized in the commercial offer.
