Sunflower Seed Oil Processing Line

Oilseed sunflower and confectionery sunflower can have different hull ratios and pressing behavior. The quotation must state whole seed, dehulled kernel, or prepared meats and distinguish a specialty cold-pressed oil from crude oil intended for refining.

Raw Material Boundary

Record variety, hull fraction, moisture, impurities, storage condition, and available oil analysis. Remove stones, metal, empty seed, mold, and rancid lots. Quote capacity on cleaned whole seed or kernels and identify dehulling loss separately.

Recommended Pretreatment

1. Clean and separate stones and metal.
2. Measure hull ratio and dehull when required by the product or process.
3. Crack, roll, or flake the prepared seed.
4. Condition heat and moisture for a warm-press route, or keep a separate low-temperature trial lot.
5. Feed the prepared material consistently to the press.

Pressing Route and Equipment

A low-temperature route can be evaluated for specialty oil. Warm conditioning and continuous mechanical pressing are generally compared for commercial crude oil. Hydraulic batch pressing may suit a defined batch product but should not be scaled without measured cycles. The post-press design must consider wax removal when clear oil at lower storage temperature is required.

Filtration and Finished-Oil Target

Define crude filtered, refined, or dewaxed oil; visible solids, moisture, color, odor, wax evaluation, and clarity at the agreed cooling or storage condition. State the sampling point and whether tanks, cooling, filtration, refining, and filling are in scope.

• Oilseed or confectionery variety, whole seed or kernel sample, hull ratio, moisture, impurities, storage condition, and available oil data
• Clean-feed input per batch, hour, or day, shifts, and dehulling or continuous conveying requirements
• Cold specialty oil or warm-pressed crude oil target and downstream refining plan
• Filtration, wax and cooling test, refining, tank, and package requirements
• Heat, power, floor space, destination, and delivery terms

Acceptance Records

Record cleaning and dehulling results, kernel loss, moisture, roll or flake condition, conditioning settings, feed rate or charge, oil temperature, crude and filtered oil, and cake. After filtration or dewaxing, evaluate solids and clarity using the agreed cooling time and temperature, then attach the required oil laboratory results.
