Open pageWalnut oil equipment is sized on usable kernels, not whole walnuts. Shell ratio, dark or rancid kernels, and the time between shelling and pressing affect both the available press feed and the finished-oil target.

Declare whole nuts or kernels, variety, origin, shell fraction, moisture, and storage history. Reject moldy, insect-damaged, dark, scorched, or rancid kernels. Previously roasted or flavored kernels are a separate product specification and require a dedicated trial and cleaning plan.
Use hydraulic batch cold pressing as the primary trial route for a light-flavor oil. A mild roast may be compared only when a stronger walnut aroma is required. Select the press from sample bulk density, batch charge, cycle time, cake release, and filtered-oil records.
Set the allowed settling time, filtration grade, visible sediment, clarity, color, aroma, and agreed oxidation-related tests. Specify closed tanks and light-protective packaging where required, along with controls that prevent oxidized oil from a previous batch remaining in the line.
Record shell and rejection weights, kernel moisture, crush size, charge weight, cycle time, oil temperature, crude and filtered oil, cake, and waiting time before filtration. Inspect clarity, color, burnt or rancid odor, tank closure, product retention, cake discharge, and cleaning before the next lot.
Send the walnut feed state, usable kernel input, target oil profile, filtration and packaging scope, utilities, and destination for an equipment quotation based on the sample trial.
