- Keep conditions comparable: use the same preparation, batch load, pressure sequence or holding time, settling/filtration period and weighing method.
- Record the full cycle: measure net oil, cake weight, residual cake oil where tested, batch time, energy use, cleaning time and stoppages.
- Judge repeatability: compare the average and variation across repeated valid tests. Capacity, recovery and commercial assumptions should follow the agreed sample and acceptance method.
