Cap rolling and shrinking machine

Cap rolling/shrinking dual-purpose machine

This is not another head-count version of the single- or multi-head shrinker. Its purchasing scope is the combination of cap rolling and PVC capsule shrinking. The published information says it also addresses bottle-mouth appearance, but it does not disclose the rolling mechanism, a dedicated output, or how the two functions are sequenced. A manufacturer quote therefore needs to identify the rolling section, shrinking section, and format scope separately.

Rolling and shrinking boundaries

  • Two functions: rolling is the bottle-mouth finishing function stated on the series page; shrinking contracts the PVC capsule after corking. Do not treat this page as an RS shrinker with only a different number of heads.
  • Process position: the station follows corking and capsule placement and precedes labeling. The public page does not say whether capsules are placed manually, by a separate feeder, or by this machine, so capsule application must be an explicit quote item.
  • Published figures: the table below is retained as an RS-series bottle and capsule reference. It gives no separate rolling-unit specification and does not establish the dual-purpose machine's output in either operating mode.
  • Heating method: steam, electric heating, and hot air are not identified as standard configurations on the public page. The quotation must name the supplied heating method, required site utilities, and control boundary; an unlisted method is not included by implication.
  • Line interfaces: for cork-finished bottles, match the discharge from the Corking Machine Series and the handoff to the Labeling Machine Series. This machine name does not mean corking or labeling equipment is included.

Public parameter table

The existing values are preserved below. The technical offer should state which row, if any, applies to the machine being supplied.

Model Number of headsOutput (p/h) Applicable bottle height diameter Applicable rubber cap length diameter
RS-112000180-35060-10030-7030-35
RS-666000180-35060-10030-7030-35

Quote data and change parts

For machine pricing, send representative bottles and capsules or dimensioned drawings. Include bottle height and diameter, finish dimensions, capsule material and size, target line rate, and the approved bottle-mouth appearance. Falling inside the published size range does not prove that a format needs no change parts or that an untested sample will produce the required finish.

Ask the manufacturer to itemize the base machine, rolling assembly, shrinking assembly, bottle/capsule format parts, capsule placement or feeding scope, conveyor and line controls, supplied spares, packing, and FAT/SAT. Installation, commissioning, training, and after-sales response should be judged only by the written supply scope, not assumed from the phrase "factory quote."

The changeover list should distinguish the parts and adjustments used for rolling from those used for shrinking. If steam, electric heat, hot air, or another method is offered, only the method written into the final technical agreement is the purchased configuration.

Sample FAT and site SAT

  • Before FAT: approve the sample bottles and capsules, contracted operating modes, test rate and duration, appearance reference, and treatment of nonconforming samples.
  • During FAT: test the contracted rolling-only, shrinking-only, or combined modes as applicable; record bottle transfer, capsule position, changeover steps, finished appearance, and purchased line signals.
  • During SAT: repeat the agreed interface checks with the actual site utility and upstream/downstream equipment. A value in the public table becomes an acceptance criterion only when it is written into the contract and test protocol.
